What is Orff?

Simply put, Orff is an internationally recognised developmental approach to music education developed by German composer Carl Orff (1895-1982). Children sing in groups with songs,  rhymes and percussion instruments like shakers, chimes and spoons to create their own music. They experience scarf activities and even puppet shows. Music education is for the enitre family and is about family bonding.

 Learning Orff- Kodaly, can help a child learn a formal instrument later. Your child will be introduced to concepts such as rhythm and beat. They will be introduced to concepts such as rhythm, canons (rounds), ostinatos, and timing. Orff helps children combine music, movment and drama to create their own music.

Music sessions for seniors - The Orff approach is also used for seniors to improve coordination, memory, dexterity and mood. We conduct music sessions for seniors at different retirement homes and seniors centres. 

Music lessons - We also conduct beginner piano lessons in Burnaby. Private piano lessons of all levels can also be arranged for children and adults in Vancouver.  The piano classes can be conducted at the teachers home or can also be arranged at your residence for a higher charge.  

 We also do playdates.
